Hood on Landscape or Portrait?

Hood on Landscape or Portrait?

The best part about my handmade Hooded blankets is that they're made by hand! Meaning I can change so many things about it, including the location of the hood. But which side is best? That totally depends on your own personal tastes.

Here's what I mean by Portrait or Landscape:

Pictured here is the same blanket print (Mushrooms in Black and White), with the same underside color, one has no trim, the other has trim (another style I can accomodate on your custom minky grankie) but the hood is either on the shorter side - Portrait, or the longer side - Landscape.

Portrait keeps the print direction consistent - going up and down, the way the artist intended, as well as the "fur" direction - called the 'nap' going downward as well. This direction the blanket is longer than it is wide.

Landscape gives you a wider side to wrap around you, but you sacrifice length. So when it's wrapped around, it won't be covering your feet.

If you're a person who walks around the house with their Grankie wrapped around them, Landscape is probably best. If you're a person who stands and does tasks without wandering around a lot, then Portrait is probably better because there's less material in front of you to get in the way of your hands.

Here's what the two versions look like on a human being (me!):

So it's totally up to you, and what lifestyle you wanna lead! There's not an enormous difference, but it might just make all the difference in how you enjoy your Hooded Grankie.
